Our Club Express kids across all sessions since the program's inception in 2018, have had the honor of showing their work at Abel Contemporary Gallery, one of Wisconsin's most notable galleries for contemporary and avant-garde art. Through this experience, they have grown. As one young artist said after attending the show's opening in January, "I couldn't believe how mature I felt." The kids who attended got to see reams of people walk through the gallery's no. 5 room, where the show hangs until February 26, in many cases buy their pieces and show interest not only in their work but in the meaning behind why we do it. Our show is running in conjunction with the work of Diane Washa whose pieces are the subject of the gallery's main show. Diane is also a veteran volunteer with our MyArts session.
